PDO and PGI labelled products stand out distinctively in the vast panorama of the agriculture-alimentary business, thanks to their unique quality, safety and traceability. Alongside other initiatives, this website is conceived to help EU citizens become more familiar with, and better appreciate these products.
This project foresees several types of actions and initiatives, all of which aim at raising awareness among consumers regarding the true value of EU certifications and stimulating the consumption of certified products.
Quality, Territorial identity, Food Safety and protection of the environment. These are four good reasons to choose products with PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) and PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) certifications. These two quality signs represent a guarantee, reinforced by the protection of the European Union, to the benefit of consumers who can know with certainty the origin and characteristics of the food they purchase, rigorously produced in observance of precise specifications.
