Castagna del Monte Amiata PGI: how to recognize it

Castagna del Monte Amiata PGI cannot be sold loose on the market, but only packaged in netted food containers ranging from 0.5 to 30 kg (currently on the market we can only find 1 kg packages), sealed with an irremovable label quoting the writing “Castagna del Monte Amiata” immediately followed underneath by the writing “Protected Geographical Indication (Italian acronym I.G.P.) in conformity with the product’s mark of origin; the name of the variety of chestnuts contained in the package (Marrone, Bastarda Rossa, Cecio); name, surname and business name and premises of the firm that carried out the treatment and/or packaging of the product (whether it is the producer or a third-party); quantity of product contained originally in the containers, expressed in conformity with the metrological standards in force; ministerial guarantee and community logo.
