A label indicating the designation "Prosciutto Toscano" immediately followed by the writing "Protected Designation of Origin" (in Italian or the Italian acronym "DOP";
A metallic seal with a round platelet with the abbreviation P.T. in relief and the date when the processing started, expressed with the month (indicated in Roman figures) and the year (indicated with the last two figures in Arabic numbers;
An iron-branded mark with the writing PROSCIUTTO TOSCANO DOP. Furthermore, the mark has a capital alphabet number, indicating the month when the curing phase started, followed by two figures that identify the processing firm. The iron-branded mark has to be applied also on the boneless and on the sliced product. Instead, the pre-packaged cold cut has a label with the PDO logo and an alphanumerical progressive code that univocally identifies each pack, guaranteeing its traceability.
